Dear Clark,
Kaycee has seen her career take off in Dallas, send her around the world, and land her safely back in Dallas in 2008 as the co-owner and founder of Dear Clark.
Hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma (but spiritually Venice Beach), Kaycee was born under the Gemini sign. Her nicknames include K.K., Willis, and Buck. You’ll have to ask her how she got them:). Beauty called her name when she was eight years old. Her mom sold MaryKay cosmetics and Kaycee gave her babysitter a makeover. When mom got home, the babysitter owed her money!
She started her career in 1992 with Toni and Guy. In her 9 years with the company Kaycee was a Staff Trainer, Artstic Director, Senior Art Team member and finally International Education Director for North America. With an emphasis on cutting and styling she dove into the next part of her career!
In 2002 the professional haircare company KMS California recruited Kaycee. She moved from Dallas to Los Angeles (Venice Beach) where she began her career as the Global Creative Director for the brand. She spent her time developing advanced cutting programs, directing and producing the company’s annual photo shoots, and representing the brand in fashion week, shows, and academy courses. She has performed in shows and events worldwide including New York, L.A., London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Spain, Finland, Bangkok, and Sydney.
When she wasn’t developing programs and educating, she spent her time doing photo shoots and fashion shows. Kaycee has worked with top Project Runway designers such as Nick Verreos and Rami Kashou, as well as Jasmin Shokrian, Juan Carlos Obando, BCBG, and J Brand. During her 6 years in L.A. she worked with celebrities: Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Daryl Hannah, Wendie Malick, and Camryn Manheim.
Kaycee returned to Dallas in Feb. 08 to partner with Holly and open Dear Clark Hair Studio. She is thrilled to be back behind the chair specializing in long hair, DevaCurl for curly hair, up-styles, Keratin Complex Smoother, Brazilian Blowout, and the Therma Fuse 450 Amino Acid smoothing treatment. She absolutely LOVES to cut curly hair as well as styling long hair! Recently she was certified in Santa Monica at Sharon Blain’s Long Hairdressing Boot Camp.
When she isn’t at the studio, Kaycee can be found at a No Doubt, Jill Scott, or Matisyahu concert. She loves to swim and spend time with her Yorkies Rex, Rockey and Zoe. At least a few times a year she travels with her 3 best friends she refers to as her L.A. Willis’. If you see a flash of red blaze by you it could be her on her Honda Metropolitan scooter!
Kaycee is available Tuesday through Saturday and late on Thursdays. She has a flexible schedule if you need her to come in early or stay late.
